USWUA is currently engaged in and financially supporting an ongoing civil rights litigation involving WeChat, a social media platform. In the future, the Corporation anticipates supporting other administrative challenges and court litigation that serve to protect human and civil rights specifically the freedom of speech. Currently the majority of the Corporation's time and financial resources is spent on the litigation to protect those fundamental human rights. Supporting these types of litigations promote the Corporation's exempt purpose by ensuring that human and civil rights are protected specifically the freedom of speech.
USWUA’s mission is dedicated to civil rights litigation and education/community outreach. We would like to educate our Asian American communities on what their civil, human rights are, and how they can be protected. For this educational component, the Corporation will engage in community outreach activities that is focused on eliminating prejudice and discrimination against all racial and ethnic minorities but specifically prejudice and discrimination against Asian Americans.
In the future, we anticipate that our focus will shift so that approximately half of its time and financial resources will be dedicated to civil rights litigation and half will be dedicated to education/community outreach. We understand that each area we target will have its own set of challenges that minorities face and USWUA will need to conform its efforts to meet the needs of each community.
*USWUA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity.
